A Project Report On The C-E Translation Of Construction Techniques Guidance For The Tension Stringing Under Electric Power Industry Standard

With the rapid development of technology and globalization,especially the conduct of" the belt and road"," Chinese-English(abbr.as C-E)translation of industry standards" is the technical language for international exchanges and technical basis for international trade.Therefore,it is imperative to establish a unified national standard,to standardize the foreign language translation in the field of public services and to promote our country's opening up to the outside world.Based on the C-E Translation of Construction Techniques Guidance for the Tension Stringing of Electric Power Industry Standard,the author,under the guidance of Eugene A.Nida's Functional Equivalence,points out the main problems and difficulties encountered in the process of translation at the level of lexicon,syntax and language style,and introduces detailed translation strategies.For example,at the lexical level,the author employs compounding method and liberal translation;at the syntactic level,the author applies reinventing order of clauses,nominalization and adopting passive voice;at the textual level,the author stresses the use of modal verbs and prepositions,both of which are typical to show the style of scientific texts.Taking the project report on the C-E Translation of Construction Techniques Guidance for the Tension Stringing of Electric Power Industry Standard as an example,the author intends to study the process,principle,method and prospect of standards translation for the power industry,hoping to make her own contributions to the field of English translation of standards in the electric power industrywhose development is currently still immature.
