Under the circumstance that the international cooperation becomes closer and closer, the communications and exchanges between China and other countries are also more and more frequent, especially in the field of engineering. In recent years, international engineering industry develops rapidly, and more and more Chinese engineering enterprises involve in the relevant projects and play an increasingly important role in both international infrastructure market and engineering construction market, which puts forward a higher demand to engineering translation.Based on Nida's Dynamic Equivalence translation theory, the thesis studies the engineering text and analyzes the strategies and skills for engineering translation by using comparative method and concrete examples. The following results have been achieved through the present research.A good knowledge of the source texts and a deep research on their technical features through a lot of similar texts are the prerequisite for the engineering translation;a suitable translation theory based on special text features is useful to provide translation framework and serve as a reference;the target text should be translated from different levels to produce a better translation. In a word, the E-C translation of engineering text can observe the principles familiarization with the source text, employment of a certain translation theory as a reference and target text creation from different levels as the key method.Apart from the introduction and the conclusion, this thesis consists of four chapters.Chapter Two and Chapter Three introduce the Dynamic Equivalence translation theory and the features of engineering text.Chapter Four mainly analyzes the application of the theory in the engineering text from the levels of vocabulary, sentence and text. Also, some examples are given to support the statement.Chapter Five raises some translation strategies and skills by summarizing the chapters above, and it is the purpose of the thesis.Chapter Four and Five are the core parts.By taking both the theory and practice into consideration, some strategies and skills are explored to guide the translation activities.
