The Evolution From Performance Space To Conversation Space:Research On The Transformation Of Cultural Space Of Majie Temple Fair About Folk Quyi-art

Baofeng County,located in the southwest of Henan Province,has advocated the cultural tradition since ancient times. The county in which is known as a land of attractive resources and magic power and a birthplace of creative minds and gifted talents, is the vivid reflection on inheritance of folk art of talking and singing as entertainment lasting hundreds of years and foundation deep-rooted in people. Majie temple fair about folk Quyi-art has existed 700 years till now.It is so popular at home and abroad that Majie is granted as the title of "folk art of the township". A great many folk artists coming from all over the countrywide arrive here to perform and communicate with each other on specialty,also make new friends possibly. The big scene can be called the magnificent sight of folk arts. As the state council announced Majie temple fair was selected in the "the first batch of state-level non-material cultural heritage list" on May 20, 2006, its value is recognized widely by the people from all walks of life, more and more experts and scholars come to Majie and try to study the reasons for uninterrupted of Majie temple fair from their perspective.As to Previous studies on Majie temple fair about folk Quyi-art, most of them were launched from the micro perspective, or the relevant legends about it, trying to find the relationship between the legends and the origins of Majie temple fair about folk Quyi-art; Or from the perspective of musicology, analyzing its music value, so as to contribute to understand the knowledge of Chinese traditional folk music better.Most of previous studies from the micro perspective, ignored the interaction between participants,even the cultural space in which provide the location for the interaction.In recent years, with the population on the study of non-material cultural heritage, the importance of "cultural space" has become increasingly prominent, the study on cultural space of Majie temple fair can help us protect and inherit this ancient invisible fortune.This paper is divided into five parts on the content. The first chapter is the introduction which is mainly present the topic, significance, literature review and the theoretical basis; The second chapter suggests the basic situation of Majie county ofBaofeng, mainly including the geographical position, natural environment,folk customs, the development course and the related legends about Majie temple fair about folk Quyi-art; Chapter 3 and chapter 4 are the key parts of this paper, through the changes on "place", "people", "activity"(three main elements of cultural space)contrasting with past, reveals the transformation of cultural space of Majie temple fair. The third chapter focuses on the formation and development of cultural space mentioning Majie temple fair about folk Quyi-art. First, doing a brief introduction to the composition of the elements from the time, place, venue and organizer which is namely "place" and "people"; Next is "activity", discussing about the interaction among artists, residents and the masses who take part in on the very day, Based on the analysis of participants’ behaviors, it is concluded that Majie temple fair about folk Quyi-art is the cultural space giving priority to performance in the past.The fourth chapter is about the transformation of cultural space in new era.Firstly,analyzing the difference of Majie temple fair compared with the traditional times mentioned in the aspects of "place" and "people", including the new organizers and participants are introduced; Next, prescribing the change of Majie temple fair under the modern culture shock; Finally, describing the will of different interactive subject,it is concluded that the modern demands of different groups promote the transformation of cultural space about Majie temple fair. The fifth chapter is the conclusion. Which can be concluded from the analysis of the above, the formation and development of cultural space about Majie temple fair shows the characteristics of stage,the line of demarcation is its renaissance.Divided into two main periods:the first one is the formation and development period of cultural space.(1949——1979),the second is the transition times(1979——present). During the second periods, the different demands of different social groups become the main engine of the development of cultural space transformation. Ultimately the transformation that cultural space from performance space to conversion space becomes a reality.
