The Design And Realization Of The Short Animation The Legend Of Guangyun Peak

Currently, animation industry at home and abroad is in an important stage of development and creation.Many animation companies made great success in box office by animations of Chinese elements.However, it’s a shame there is hardly animations of Suzhou Garden elements. Suzhou Gardens,with respective historical stories, are the general reference to the landscape gardens in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, having won the reputation of Cosmos Reengineered Nearby. Stones,architectures and stories all together constitute a rich and colorful garden culture.This garden culture is very suitable for animation themes and the animations of garden culture elements help advertise Suzhou Garden Culture in turn.The legends of Guanyun Peak in the Lingering Garden, as the basis and the common thread of the thesis, run through character design, scene design and animation design. And thereby human desires, intricate gardens and beautiful stones are shown in the way of animation.The thesis has discussed the formation of Chinese Culture of Stone-appreciating and defined the aesthetic charecteristics of the rare stone--Guanyun Peak as leaness, leakage, perspective and wrinkle.The animation exhibits the beautiful gardens in a realistic and exaggerated way. The play script writing, character design, scene drawing, camera languages, later stage compilation of garden-themed animations are also probed:Play script adapting methods and skills with garden background; Stress on consistence of character image with time; Characters’personality traits, time background and dress features. On the part of garden scenes the thesis discussed Buddhism and Taoism’s influence on garden culture, probed traits of garden culture, analyzed the aesthetic charecteristics of the rare stone--Guanyun Peak and clarified making methods of garden-theme animation background under the background of Suzhou Rare Rock Culture.And on the part of animation making, abiding by characters’ time background and psychological features, the thesis analyzed the essential points of garden-themed animation making in terms of law of motion, action design, making skills, camera languages and picture composition. On the part of post production, the thesis mainly studied Yangtze folk background music to fullfill the correspondance of Yangtze scenaries with characters. On the flash platform, the animation production is accomplished frame by frame in the way of hand painting. The synthesis of clips is completed with After Effects.
