With the development of globalization and the booming business activities among countries, Business English, being a tool of communication, has become increasingly important. As a result, reading Business English materials has become an indispensable part of our daily life. Business English, as one branch of English for Specific Purposes, is a variant of English of social function, which not only has linguistic features of standard English, but also has its unique characteristics, including its combination with the knowledge of finance, accounting, law and so on. Therefore, Business English translation has become a very popular research field.This is a report on the English-Chinese Translation of BIS (Bank for International Settlements) Quarterly Review, September 2014 (Excerpt), which is composed of four chapters. Chapter One is a brief introduction of the background and analysis of the characteristic of the source text. Chapter Two is concerned with the translation process. Chapter Three includes a discussion of the difficulties encountered in the translation process and the corresponding translation methods used. Chapter Four gives a summary of the whole report.
