A Report On The E-C Translation Of Financial Paper Under The Guidance Of Text Typology

With the rapid development of international trade and economic globalization,international financial cooperation is becoming more and more frequent.This phenomenon shows the growing importance of financial English translation.As a branch of ESP(English for Specific Purposes),financial English has its professional features and style.Choosing The Cost,Profit and X-Efficiency of Islamic Banks as the source text of translation,the translator records the whole translation process in detail and writes the report.The Cost,Profit and X-Efficiency of Islamic Banks is a conference paper by Professor M.Kabir Hassan.The conference paper illustrates the operation cost,interests and the X efficiency of Islamic Banks whose operation mode is different from that of other banks in the world.On the basis of the relevant materials and the analysis of the source text,the translator attempts to apply the text typology to the practical interdisciplinary translation,so as to accurately convey the original information and full reflect the text style.On the basis of analyzing the conference paper under the text typology,the report provides a record and an analysis of the translation process.Also,the report analyzes the lexical and sentence features of the financial English,and the difficulties through several examples.The translation strategies adopted in this report include amplification,omission and conversion in vocabulary translation and following the original syntactic order,reversion and phrasing in sentence translation.Through case study,the report aims to analyze the difficulties in the translation of financial English paper,conclude the right translation strategies adopted in the translation of financial English paper,and provide a reference for the study of financial English translation.
