Study On The Changes Of The Gods Belief In The Village Of Pengshui

Our country’s religious belief is polytheistic, and the worship objection are all-inclusive. Not only includes mountain,sun,moon,but also sage of antiquity, loyal minister, ghosts and family ancestor. There have such a closely relationships between Gods worship and the villager’s daily life. Under the background that build new rural’s culture, there’s no doubt that researching Gods worship play an important role in building new rural.In this paper, the author took shuanghe village, Pengshui County, Chongqing as filed point. Combined field work and documentary study and described the local folk beliefs present situation, analyzed the different relationships of the local Gods worship,Gods, and villager’s daily life in different stages, to explore profound meaning what the changes of Gods worship in shuanghe village.This paper is divided into four chapters.The fist chapter is an introduction. It’s introduced the origin of the research,understanding of relevant concepts,the present situation, research methods and difficult problem about Chinese folk beliefs at home and abroad. The second chapter is described economic and social development of shuanghe village, the filed point. Including geographical circumstance, social economy and culture,etc.The third chapter is depicted basic components about shuanghe village’s folk beliefs. The forth chapter is according to the basic content of the spirit belief of the double field village, start the analysis.Summarized the basic characteristics of the gods faith, and from the perspective of the structure and function of the village of the two.The fifth chapter is divided into three stages: prosperity to silence and then to gradual recovery, introduced the process of the change of the village belief.The sixth chapter is analyzed the change of folk beliefs in shuanghe village. The signifier and the signified of the Gods: the function of Gods was changed.Besides it’s own basic function it’s still have derivation function which assigned by villages. The reason why folk beliefs was changed is that adjustment of national religion policy, emergence of tide work across the country--hollow village,villagers were changed the way of entertainment.In different periods, the Gods beliefs in villager’s eyes are changing, too. Solid-depression-wandering.In terms of Gods beliefs,it’s structure also have two different types of change:extension changed but interior extent are stabled, or interior extent changed but extension are stabled.
