Comparative Study Of Film Discourse Between《china’s National Image—Angle Article》and《discovery Atlas:China》

《 China’s National Image — Angle Article 》 and 《 Discovery Atlas:China 》 are both followed the theme "China", but there are a lot of differences between them in the content and prophecy, which lead to a different image effects in construction of Chinese national image.The former showed a positive image, however, the latter showed a nuetral or negative image. The inherent cultural structure affected the creators subtly, and resulted in the creation differences. The cultural differences between Chinese and western also exert an effect on the creation of the film.In this paper,《China’s National Image—Angle Article》and《Discovery Atlas: China》as examples. Based on citical discourse analysis and the clash of civilizations, the discourse differences and culture differences are discussed.The analysis revealed,firstly,《China’s National Image—Angle Article》,based on propaganda paradigm,shows a positive image of the development.《Discovery Atlas:China》,based on records paradigm,not only shows the positive image but also reveals some negative phenomena.Secondly,in the film discourse,content is the main part of set,which laid the overall tone of the film.Language is the object part of set,which deepening the film theme.Finally,the correlation between two theories,that the interaction between discourse practice and social culture.
