The Study Of The Prefaces And Postscripts Of Laozi Written By Song

In this paper,I put the " prefaces and postscripts of Laozi written by Song" as the main object of this study,through the analysis of it in documentary,literature and culture to highlight their academic values of the development of the theory of Lao Tse and literature in Song dynasty.In the first chapter,I analyze the prefaces and postscripts of Laozi written by Song from the view of documentary.I lay the stress on investigating the historical values of the textual research of the author, version and academic origin.The prefaces and postscripts of Laozi written by Song are full of historical materials,which can help us understand the authors’ life story and the reasons why they write them better.Meanwhile,they can help us know the time when they inscribe the books and if they are the real authors or not.What’s more,they can also be used to help us hold the academic changes of the theory of Lao Tse in Song and the text of Laozi.In the second chapter,I explore the prefaces and postscripts of Laozi written by Song from the perspective of literature.I analyze the literary significance of them,mainly by their literary forms and criticisms.First of all,I talk about the new changes of the forms of prefaces and postscripts,which consist of the development of the prefaces and the rise of the postscripts.Secondly,I summarize the stylistic features of these prefaces and postscripts.They use flexible sentences and the forms of combination of parallel prose,and they are also rich in the expression forms, for example,discussion,lyrics,narration,exposition and so on.Finally,I explain the prefaces and postscripts in the eyes of literary criticisms,both the “Understand the human and study the society" and the "Imagery" show us the practices and changes of literary criticism viewpoint clearly.Then,they can also restore the communication and acceptance of the theory of Lao Tse in Song to some degree.In the third chapter,I read the prefaces and postscripts of Laozi written by Songfrom the cultural point of view.I study them in the thought of the theory of Lao Tse in Song.They reflect the culture characteristic of the confluence of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.Mainly as followed: firstly, the relationship between the Lao Tse and the Confucianism is more closed,which is not only combined with political reality of Confucianism,but also has a strong chemical reaction with the Neo-Confucianism of Song;Secondly,many scholars use the Buddhist ideas to interpret Laozi and form a new stage of Buddhism and Taoism;Thirdly,the relation between the theory of Lao Tse and the Taoism is more complex,the theory of Lao Tse in Song show the evident departure with Taoism theology,and then,steer to the combination with Taoist internal alchemy theory.
