Sport Dance, or International Standard Dance, is a kind of competitive dance and also a combination of music, skills, physical efficiency and performance. These years, Sport Dance training institutions and clubs for children are increasing rapidly, as well as the young learners, which mark an important period for developing the interests in sport dance among children. However, due to rapid development, most organizations are not standard. By adopting the researching methods including reviewed literature, conducted interviews, distributed questionnaires, analyzed data and observed information, the paper mainly researches and investigates the current conditions of training institutions of children’s sport dance in Xi’an, such as the age of students, time span, frequency of participation, students’ motivation, training space, information of competitions and performances, etc. Then, the author finds some existing problems after investigating and studying the factors, offers some references in improving the management for the training institutions of children’s sport dance in Xi’an.This paper focuses on the factors influencing the standard development of children’s sport dance in Xi’an, selects thirty sport dance training institutions and clubs in five districts of Xi’an as research objectives. In the research and investigation of the current condition for the teaching of children’s sport dance in Xi’an, the author purposely studies such factors as dancing teachers’ education background and qualification, selection and utilization of teaching materials, teaching contents, training methods as well as the problems existing in the standard development, from which conclusions can be drawn as follows:(1) The age structure of the sport dance learners in Xi’an reveals an impact of examination-oriented education system on students’ interests and hobbies. The length of the training period of young learners is not steady. The parents ignore the opportunity to send their children to study sport dance. These all contribute to a lack of sport dance talent reserves in Xi’an.(2) There are fewer chances for students in Xi’an to take part in big shows or performances; most students take part in the training only to cultivate their interest and build their bodies.(3) Most of the teachers training children’s sport dance have got their bachelor’s degree and have achieved their national professional certificates in teaching children’s sport dance. The teachers’ structure is reasonable. But there are no unified teaching materials.(4) There are some major problems in the development of children’s sport dance in Xi’an, such as focusing more on utility, no unifies standards, ignoring teaching and training process and lack of publicity, all of which lead to the deficiency of the training and management. There are various development factors, mainly including teachers’ teaching level and insufficient ability, normative requirements for the big games, disunity of teaching methods and training means, as well as nonstandard location equipment.
