A Practice Report Onthe Translation Of “Ionospheric Clutter Mitigation For High Frequency Surface Wave Radar Based On Two-Dimensional Array”(Excerpts)

In the information era, with the help of high-quality translations works and translators, we are able to introduce our scientific research and innovative ideas to the whole world. Especially, the translation of innovative scientific papers can contribute to the international exchange in relevant scientific and technological fields.This practice report discusses the Chinese-English translation process and translation strategy of “Ionospheric Clutter Mitigation for High Frequency Surface Wave Radar Based on Two-dimensional Array”. The author apply the corresponding textual level and translation shift theory, the paper generally covers following three aspects, namely, translation preparation, case analysis, problems and shortcomings.The practice report first briefly introduces the translation background and preparations. In the case analysis, three aspects are discussed. In terms of translation surface correspondence: language-information conversion, the science and technology abbreviations, functional shift and amplification should be used; as to translation midst correspondence: logic-functional equivalence, the addition and reduction of conjunctions, logical reshuffling, long sentences splitting and passive sentences should be employed. Finally, translation should reflect both the technical writing style and English language style to seek the deep correspondence: the equivalent text style of the original and the translation.To sum up, in C-E thesis translation, translators should pursue the surface equivalence of expressions level, the shallow equivalence of logical level, and the deep equivalence: the equivalent text style of the original and the translation ultimately. The author hopes that this paper can be helpful in C-E thesis translation and in relevant scientific and technological fields.
