Wide Election: Attempt And Considerations Of Rural Democracy

Wide election is not only the language glossary which reflects the social phenomenon, but also the catalyst of China’s political reforms. In addition, it is also the time label that annotates the peasants’thought vicissitude. This thesis conducts the introduction and analysis of the wide election as comprehensible as possible. This paper explores the history of the "wide election" with the emergence and development of the "wide election", shows the change and development of political life in rural areas, and prospects a longing for democracy with the development of the society.Firstly, the study points out the significance of wide-election, the core concept of this article are explained after the literature review. Then, the paper expounds particularly appearance and development of the "wide election", and analyses how to deepen the "wide election" step by step in the process, how to gradually became publicized in social field. Wide election is produced in a specific context of the practical needs of the times, which can be said the combination of the upper and lower which can conform to the farmers’creative efforts and the promotion of Local Government and the country. The emergence and development of "wide election" explains the political change after villagers’ self-government in rural areas, confirms the change from authoritarian political to democracy in countryside. Based on the analysis of wide-election survey, the paper founds that the villagers of Beilaohao don’t welcome audition and it fails to meet the expectations of villagers although the "wide election" happened in Beilaohao village. In reality, there are some problems in varying degrees during selection, and the different groups have misread the "wide election". This paper mainly expounds this misreading of the farmers and scholars. Finally, we also carried out an extension of thinking that contribute to the promotion of contemporary Chinese wide-election political reform and political development, political democracy has a positive meaning, but to the higher level of development also requires some time. This article gives a deep probing into the question. It is acknowledged that the "wide election" is helpful to promote structural reform of politics and political development. It has active significance for socialist democracy. It will be a long time before we stride towards the advanced level of "wide election".
