Analysis Of Local Government’s Credibility Combining With Group Incidents

Government credibility is the ability of the government earning the public’s trust, andgovernment credibility is also an important benchmark to measure the regime stable andsocial civilization. It is a kind of soft power, a valuable social resource, one of the majorintegrated force, but also a key factor to promote economic growth and political stability. Asthe center of the social credit system, the credibility of the local government plays animportant role in promoting the development of society. The credibility of the localgovernment means the level of credit showed by the local government when they carry outtheir functions, as well as the ability getting the trust of the people within the jurisdictionduring the local government’s daily work.China is in a critical period of building a moderately prosperous society, implementingthe scientific concept of development, and building a socialist harmonious society. In general,our government’s credibility is high, especially the central government with getting a highpublic support while the development of the credibility of local governments is unbalanced.Deep contradictions and problems come out with the transition. They show the problemsinherent in the Government of the transition period, and also weaken the credibility of theGovernment. At the same time, with the deepening of reform and opening up, the overalltransformation of the market economy, the pattern of re-adjustment of the interests of society,new social classes and the increasingly diverse demands of groups of interest have appearedwith a lot of social contradictions and conflicts arising from various types of mass incidents.This thesis analyzed the credibility of the local government combining with several largegroup incidents occurred in recent years. This thesis is divided into five parts: the first part isan introduction. It contains the background and significance of this study, literature review,research methodology, research ideas. The second part is the analysis of the credibility oflocal government. It contains analysis of the content and features of the local governmentcredibility and significance to enhance the credibility of the local government. The third partis the analysis of group incidents. It contains the definition, characteristics trends of the groupevent, and influence. The fourth part is about the relationship of group incidents and localgovernment credibility. Local government’s credibility plays an effective role to solve groupincidents, mainly in three areas: the role of local government credibility in the prevention ofgroup incidents, the credibility of the local government in processing into group incidents, as well as the credibility of the local government works after the group incidents. The fifth partis the mode to enhance the credibility of China’s local governments. There are four main areas.The basics to enhance the credibility of the local government: the correct positioning of thegovernment and the public; the fundamental way to enhance credibility of the localgovernment: the legal constraints and effective supervision; credibility of the localgovernment to enhance the social environment: social harmony; credibility of the localgovernment to enhance the basic strategy: political communication and citizen participation.
