The Study Of Process And Mechanisms Of The Contention With Challengers Staging Tragic Struggle Of Self-mutilation In Demolition Contradictions

On one hand, rapid advance of China’s urbanization process catalyzed demolitioncontradictions deeper and broader, rural land requisition and demolition of urbanhousing issues have become the most prominent issues in petition, vicious demolitionevents happen a lot. And at the same time, government departments will be part ofdemolition conflict, either as objects of demolition requirements or as the favor to gainto satisfy the requirements of challengers, which easily leads to Contradiction betweenofficials and the public, and even threatens social stability. On the other hand, with thelast of demolition contradictions in those years, the challengers have created variousprotest repertoires constantly, but tragic struggle of self-mutilation has staged time andagain. To their family, the tragic struggle of self-mutilation such as hanging themselves,self-immolation can cause irreparable damage, and also it’s a sign of social illsperformance. Therefore, this article is combining these two aspects, and focus on thechallengers with tragic struggle of self-mutilation in demolition contradictions. Thestudy of its processes and mechanisms can be as the empirical basis, in order to block orreduce the kind of tragic struggle of self-mutilation.To conclude and analyze by comparison the evolution processes and mechanismsof the contention challengers staging tragic struggle of self-mutilation in demolitioncontradictions, the author uses case studies. So firstly, this article selects seven cases oftragic struggle of self-mutilation based on time, place and availability of data, and sortout the development process at all stages of each case. Secondly, the process is dividedinto three sub-processes: challengers building, mobilization and competition, to analyzethe phenomena and features of the contention challengers staging tragic struggle ofself-mutilation in demolition contradictions, and the reasons will be explained. Thirdly,chase down the mechanisms that can be identified, which include frame-extension,media connection, affection mobilization, socity use, as well as the recognition orrevocation of legality. Finally, this article describes the contention process in a moregeneral way, composes the mechanisms into the contention process, and explores therelevance between the results and mechanisms.
