Study On The Risk Assessment Mechanism Of Social Stability In Local Major Policy Decisions

While benefiting the people’s livelihood, major policy decisions and majorengineering projects can be inevitably involved with land requisition, housingdemolition compensation, resettlement of displaced residents and other relevant issues.It is very easy to cause social contradiction when local governments have difficulty incoordinating with the masses. Therefore, when introducing major policy decisions andmajor projects, any government can not merely attach importance to economicgrowth,but ignore the people’s affordability, which may damage their vital interestsand cause social contradiction. It is necessary to conduct the scientific risk assessmentof social stability for major policy decisions and major projects introduced by localgovernments, so as to prevent risk from the source, and to reduce and eliminate thethreat to social stability.Based on the achievements of previous research, this paper concentrates on therisk assessment of social stability of F Hydropower Station for the in-depth analysison the operation of local major policy decisions and social stability risk theory as thetheoretical basis.through taking the project F Hydropower Station as a special case,reveals the framework for the risk assessment of social stability, and analyzes its roleand status in local government and farmers as well as the possible problems in theassessment and the consequences caused by them. Last puts forward the policysuggestions for improving the risk assessment of social stability.
