It is well-known that happiness is ancient but constant new aim chasing by human beings. As forsoldiers, the happiness which is served as emotional need during their growth is not only the goal runningafter by Communism but also the major standard that can judge the status of construction and developmentof army. Especially for soldiers in Sinkiang Grassroots Company, their needs of happiness are more special.This paper has investigated and analyzed the elements which influenced the happiness of soldiers throughquestionnaire survey, individual interview, and group discussion. In the paper key investigation and studyare to be done with respect to the negative factors that impacted the increase of the soldiers’ happiness soas to improve the same. The paper firstly makes analysis to basic theory of soldier’s happiness, followingthen carries out field investigation. In the opinion of the author, the status of the happiness for soldiers inSinkiang Grassroots Company are detailed as:Ⅰ.Majority of the soldiers think that their self-worth haveachieved when fulfilling mission, and can obtain happiness from sufferings, however hardship make thehappiness degenerated; Ⅱ.Majorities consider that their quality have improved and enjoy the course ofgrowth and becoming a useful person, while minorities complain what they have learnt from the army arenot applicable for local development; Ⅲ.Majorities find that they have built profound camaraderie andfamily bonds with comrade-in-arms, while minorities feel anguish and torture due to emotional lack;Ⅳ.Majorities believe that the atmosphere of fair and square make them strive to be the best, whileminorities have veiled criticism against the atmosphere construction; Ⅴ.Majorities do affirm that theCompany take the spare-time culture life serious, making the work and rest well alternated, however thecultural life of the Company should be more plentiful as responded by the soldiers. The reasons that makethe happiness for the soldiers in Sinkiang Grassroots Company influenced are divided as following aspects:Minority of leading organizations and grass-roots cadres did not highlight on improving happiness index ofthe soldiers. While the arduous task of guarding country and garrisoning the border region etc. make athought of suffering loss because of giving more but receiving less grow in the soldiers’ mind which causedthe happiness reduced. Moreover, far away from hometown and enclosed environment mean strongeremotional needs, but the same cannot be fulfilled, which caused the happiness be degenerated. Additionallyimpure atmosphere in some Company made the soldiers be treated unfair on sensitive issues which createda reason to decrease the happiness. Lastly, limited conditions to organize recreational activities alsorestrained the happy needs of the soldiers which reduced the happiness. As mentioned above, the measuresto increase the happiness of the soldiers in Sinkiang Grassroots Company are concluded as: To make thepolicy of caring for people be implemented, and take setting up happy Company as objective during work. To strength ideological and political education, and guide the soldiers to establish proper view of happiness.Give support to make the soldier grow and become distinguish and lead them to obtain the happiness in theprocess of accomplishing mission and task. Enhance atmosphere construction in grass-root and buildinternal and external relationship embraced by happiness and harmony. Highlight on building ofcharacteristic military culture to create an environment full of happiness so to tether the solder himself andhis heart as well.
