Research On The Configuration Of The Facilities For Elderly Of Urban Community Based On The Continuum Of Care Concept

The facilities for elderly of urban community are an important part of the olderpeople in their later life. With the aging level increases every year, the importance of thefacilities for elderly become apparent increasingly. However, because of the lack of thefacilities for elderly of urban community, less facility type, single function, poorconstruction standards and other issues, it’s seriously hinder the development of thefacilities for elderly of urban community. Moreover, it’s difficult to meet the needs ofthe urban elderly. Under the background of national policies continue to promote thedevelopment of the facilities for elderly, this thesis aims to research the configuration ofthe facilities for elderly. Literature researching, the method of induction and deduction,and other research methods are utilized in this thesis.Firstly, this thesis clear the concept of the facilities for elderly and other related.Secondly, deeply study the characteristics of the elderly to understand its impaction onthe configuration of the facilities for elderly. Thirdly, find the lack of the classificationconfiguration and the advanced concepts and methods of the layout of facility throughthe current researches of national public service facilities. Finally, clear the researchprogress of the facilities for elderly on type, construction standards. Based on the“continuum of care” concept, this research explore the way to configurate the facilitiesfor elderly of urban community. After clear the needs between different kinds ofself-care ability of elderly, this paper determine the type of the facilities for elderly, thefacilities names and functions. By studying mature experience of abroad and our own,determine the level of each facilities and construction standards. In the layout, adhere tothe “continuum of care” concept of dominant position. Build the service circle to meetthe regular of different self-care elderly. And then explore the way to associate thefacilities to clear the way of layout.In the end, this thesis aims to supple the research on.facilities for elderly of urbancommunity and provide a theoretical basis for future actual project.
