At the moment, because China is in the social transition period, there are lots ofsocial contradictions; the petition has become a more important interest expressionchannel. However, due to the influence of democracy and legal system is not soundand other factors, the petition still has higher risk, and even quite part of thepetitioners not only didn’t realize their interest demand but rather suffered retaliation.So, why do the old petitioners stick to appeal repeatedly? How has the petitioners’political psychology changed after their petition experiments, and what factors havelead to the change. All of the above questions about consequents of contentiouspolitics are the theme of this research.Combined with the empirical characteristics of this paper, the main study methodhas been adopted is quantitative research, through the specific research methods ofdata analysis, comparative research and so on, the objective of this research will beachieved. This research is divided into five parts. Among them, the first part is theintroduction, mainly introduces the research theme, significance, the study of thepresent situation, data sources and research hypothesis; The second part focuses onthe change of petitioners’ political psychology in their appeal process; The third partis focused on the discussion of the factors affected the formation of petitioners’political psychological characteristics; The fourth part will explain why there aremany old petitioners; The fifth part is the conclusion of this study, here, the authoralso puts forward some policy suggestions.Through the data collection and analysis, the study finds that the petitioners’political psychology is very different from that of the people didn’t have the petitionexperiments. mainly displays in: political cognitive level is higher, but politicalemotion, political efficacy and political trust all have negative color. But in generalspeaking, the petitioners’ political psychology trend is still in the controllable range.At the respect of the influent factors, this study finds that the petition frequency hassignificant negative effect on political cognition, political emotion, political trust, andpolitical self-efficacy; there are positive correlation between the way that the government response to the petitions and the petitioners’ political emotion, politicaltrust, and political self-efficacy; Petitioners’ life satisfaction and their politicalemotion, political between self-efficacy is also showing positive statisticalsignificance. In addition, this study also finds that the reason of the generation of thepetitions’ psychological motivation of gonging to Beijing is related to the way that thegovernment response to the petitions and the petitioners’ levels of trust in governmentagencies.
