China is in a critical period of social transformation. During this period, opportunities and challenges co-exist. On the one hand, China has become the world’s second largest economy, with the total economy increasingly growing. Some experts pointed out that China’s economy will outperform the United States in2030and will become the world’s largest economy. By2050, China’s economy will account for one fifth of the world. On the other hand, social problems constantly emerge. Social management exposed many problems and group events occur from time to time. The economic and social status that "one leg longer than the other" reflects social management problems still exist, which will undoubtedly hinder the process of China’s modernization.The continuous development and constant employment of Web2.0technology preludes the age of "User-centered". Social media has gained a large number of users, laid a massive social impaction for its relaxing and entertaining atmosphere, opening and sharing theme. Social media plays significant role in political landscape. The traditional media age when public opinion was dominated by official media has been disappeared and the social media age when the network matters has come.The combination of group events and social media has led to group events of networks. Multiple network group events undoubtedly raised new challenges on Chinese government. How to respect and meet the diversified demands, coordinate and safeguard the interests of different groups, accept and respond to supervision and questioning of citizens are realistic difficulties facing the government. Therefore, the search for effective coping mechanisms is imminent.This thesis is composed of three sections:The first section is the introduction part. This part introduces the research background and significance of this thesis and related domestic and foreign research on group events of network, sets the research ideas, research methods and the main content of this thesis and presents research priorities and possible innovations at last.The second section includes the second part and the third part. The second part is the definition of related concepts and theoretical interpretations. The author proposed definition of group events of network and theoretical tools introduced in this thesis-Synergetic. The third section lists three typical cases of group events of network and through the methods of case analysis and comparative analysis, comprehensive analysis and conclusions are adopted on group events of network.The third section includes the fourth part and the fifth part. The fourth part is the analysis of typical cases, pointing out the problems and deficiencies of government in dealing with the group events of network. The fifth part, with Synergetic as theory basis, five dimensions in dealing with group events of network were built by the government. Combined with social media, this part summed up the proper coping mechanisms government should take to handle with group events of network.Finally, the author draws a conclusion of the whole research, analysis positive factors and negative factors in government responding of group events of network. Based on rational understanding of all factors, the author discusses the future prospect on measures government will take to deal with the group events of network.The innovations of this thesis are: the quality of group events of network in this thesis is more objective, it contains not only the negative aspects, also neutral or even positive aspects; This thesis proposed government response mechanism in group events of network by using synergetic theory, which will promote the development and innovation in government management theory.
