With the rapid development of China’s internet in recent years, the network hasbrought more freedom of expressing and information conveniently, which makes it animportant channel for public comments. At the same time, china is facing manyunexpected social contradictions and frictions in the transitional period. And theinternet provides a convenient way to participate a more complex and pluralisticsocial life, so that the public can be involved in the process of public decision-making.The internet has made all sorts of deep social contradictions and interests demandsoon exposured to the public eyes, so the ability of the government’s publicmanagement is tested in various subjects, and it will also produces a force that cannotbe ignored among the people, which enhances the internet to be a spewing channel ofpublic opinions. However, the increasing of the various mass incidents brings thegovernment more challenges and impingements in public administration.At present, the research on the government’s strategy in dealing with networkmass incidents has formed a complete theoretical system in academic circles, but asan emerging social problem, the research on how to deal with the network massincidents is still in the starting phase. So it is necessary to further study both in theoryand coping strategies.This paper focuses on the network mass incidents and analyses the copingstrategies. It has five chapters. Thefifth chapter analyzes the government’s strategies to cope with the network massincidents and proposes the following measures. Enhancing the network quality and the level of networkmanagement of government officials to strengthen the coping strategies of theeducation of all internet users.This paper, takes Xiamen PX incident, Chongqing nail households (those whorefuse to move) incident as cases to introduce and analyze the characteristics, types ofthe network mass incidents and government strategies.
