The research paradigm on ideological and political education is the academicidea, concept system, discourse system and research methods, which are owned by allmembers of the academic community of the ideological and political education. Itprovides a reasonable way of thinking, cognition framework and academic norm forthe ideological and political education research. And the shift of research paradigmsbecomes a great power to promote the development of the discipline.Discussion onthe research paradigm shift and the degree of the shift in order to seize the opportunityto complete re-shift of the research paradigm is not only a beneficial attempt torespond "anomaly" challenge and to break the dilemma of "solving probleminefficiently" when the current ideological and political education is in the face ofchanges in the internal and external environment but also the inevitable trend of theprogress of the discipline of ideological political education.As a result, the studyfocuses on the three aspects as followings.The first aspect is about theoretical interpretation of the shift of researchparadigm in ideological and political education. On the base of analysis of theconnotation structure, basic elements and movement mechanism on the "paradigm"and "paradigm shift", the justification that "paradigm theory" is introduced into thediscipline of ideological and political education is argued and the connotationstructure of research paradigm of ideological and political education is investigated.The study is beyond the Kuhn theory of incommensurability and grasps the key of theparadigm shift.The second one is to investigate the research paradigm shift of the ideologicaland political education from the point of history. The study teases the landmark eventssystematically on the research paradigm shift during the thirty years in which thediscipline of the ideological and political education was constructed. The studyoutlines the historical changes and the paradigm shift process. According to thesuccessive shift of three basic categories including the "object","rules","system";"subject","nature","value"; and "thinking","problems","dialogue", the studyobserves the history and trend of research shift: the paradigm of social philosophy, theparadigm of human science and practice paradigm. The studies above provide ahistorical and practical basis for the establishment of “practice paradigm”. The last aspect is about systematical establishment of the practice paradigm ofthe ideological and political education. The study analyzes changes of the internal andexternal environment and the trend of research paradigm. In theory, the rationality andinevitability of the paradigm shift is investigated. And then on the basis of Marx’spractical philosophy, the practice paradigmis established centering on the importantcategories, discourse system and research methods in the research of the ideologicaland political education.
