As a defeated nation, Japan was punished by the international society in the post-war era. The international social cognition on Japan’s national image was the invaders. The international countries, especially which were suffered from Japanese aggression were very wary of Japan. With the beginning of the cold war, with the support of America, Japan’s economic recovery and development rapidly, Japan also actively to fixed relationship with the countries of Southeast Asia, by means of remodeling of regional public goodsThis article bases on the regional public product theory to analyze the remodeling process of Japan’s national image, the theory of regional public goods is an important tool for the analysis of regional cooperation and national relations. This article attempts from the theory perspective the Southeast Asian countries of Japan’s national image cognitive change.First, this paper sorts out the development of the concept of regional public goods and related theory, put forward the theoretical framework of regional public goods, namely the regional public goods is not only limited to the framework of regional cooperation, foreign powers are capable of providing regional public goods; regional public goods supply in addition to regional joint supply, also includes a power supply; the regional public goods content in addition to regional cooperation agreement, outside the system, also include other types of public goods, including the power supply of the political, economic, separate culture public products etc.. The post-war Japan to Southeast Asian countries alone or in combination with regional political, economic, security, cultural, public goods, is analyzed in the framework, provide theoretical support for the research of post-war Japanese behavior in Southeast Asia Reshaping National image.Secondly, this article from the perspective of the historical evolution, combing the Japanese to Southeast Asian countries during the postwar regional public products into different types of regions with Japanese national image in the process of public products. Japan to Southeast Asia to provide public products is progressive, from the economy gradually extended to the field of cultural, political security. This is a gradual process eventually formed the Japanese on the different stages of reshaping the national image. Once again, the economic, cultural, and political perspective to study the different regional public products in Japan provides the reconstruction of Japan’s national image plays a role, Japan through different types of regional public goods supply and create a new economic power, cultural power, political power image.On the basis of providing public goods in the different stages, Japan has remodeled new national images. But as the US alliance, Japan’s national image is effected by the US. With the rise of China and Japanese aggression history and other factors, there are many disadvantages in Japan’s shaping national images. the Japan remodeled its national image through the supplying of regional public goods which will enlighten Chinese:our country should according to their own situation and combining with the characteristics of East Asia, to absorb the Japanese experience, step by step, planning to provide political, economic, environmental, safety and other aspects of public goods to the region. The best country responsibility, and neighboring countries to become the real community of destiny, then eliminate the Southeast Asian countries to China alert, enhance Chinese image of the country, and make due contributions to the development of China’s modernization construction and harmonious East asia.
