Official selection system, which is an important part of national superstructure, is thecountry’s ruling class official selection rules and process. Our system of officialselection can be traced back to the Qin Dynasty, in the long China ancient socialhistory, along with the change of regime change and social development, and ifnallyin the Ming and Qing Dynasties to mature. But the perfect old official selectionsystem feudal natural economy disintegrated rapidly and shows its disadvantages afterthe Opium War.Because of the backward social unrest environment at that time, the incoming ofimperial power corruption and western advanced idea, makes the system Chinatraditional election officials no longer meet the needs of society at that time, the lateQing government in the domestic trouble and foreign invasion of the status quo, tosafeguard their own interests in the basis of imitation of Western system of ofifcialselection system to change. Started from the old imperial examination to hire thesystem transition and the transformation of modern official. Study the result influenceand reasons of failure for us to construct and has important academic value andpractical significance to perfect our country’s ofifcial selection arid appointmentsystem.This paper is divided into four chapters,each chapter summarized as follows:The ifrst chapter in the evolution of the official theme, the author gives a briefoverview of the ancient Chinese system of selecting officials from early Qin Dynastyto the late Qing Dynasty of the whole historical process before the change, makecomments on the Chinese ancient official selecting system.The second chapter is a summary during the official system reform process of the late Qing Dynasty, the background of social status is mainly divided into three sectiondiscusses the official system reform and the development process is divided into twostages to discuss the reform.The third chapter is the main content of this article, the specific construction details atthe end of the Qing Dynasty official selection system reform, which includes to stillretained the old, specific aspects of the central and local government innovationinvolved and change from the three aspects of selection of officials specific way. Thereform process and results of oiffcial selection system for the whole of the late QingDynasty made clear.The fourth chapter is the characteristics of the official system reform, the positiveeffects and the negative effects of summing up evaluation of the late Qing Dynastyand briefly during the official system our present society enlightenment.
