Research On Neozoic Migrant Workers’Effective Political Participation

Along with the rapid acceleration of Chinese urbanization and industrialization, the phenomenon of a growing number of migrant workers coming into cities will last for a long time. Neozoic migrant workers who were born after1980s have replaced the traditional migrant stepping onto social stage and become the major social group in urban construction. Compared with traditional migrant workers, Neozoic migrant workers have more awareness of political participation, greater abilities of political participation and multivariate manners of their political participation. During the construction of socialism democratic politics with Chinese character and taking the road of Chinese own political development, the most important point is to expand citizens’orderly political participation in the widest range and the biggest field, including Neozoic migrant workers. Currently, the political participation of the Neozoic migrant workers has attracted more and more attention, which directly affects the process of building our democracy and political stability in our country. Affected by social institutions, economic conditions, institutional, and their own qualities and other comprehensive factors, the Neozoic migrant workers do not have enough interest in political participation, more often, they are just "Politically-marginalized Persons", neither live a normal political life in the countryside, nor to be integrated into the city’s political life. Therefore, to create all conditions for migrant workers to enjoy equal rights with urban citizens, truly integrate into the urban life, participate in city affairs, and enjoy the fruits of development is the only way to meet the needs of hundreds of millions of fellow reality and expectation.This article from many angles discusses the ways and characteristics of Neozoic migrant workers’ political participation, relationship between Neozoic migrant workers’ effective political participation and Chinese democratic political construction and then reveals Neozoic migrant workers’ political participation constraints:Constrained by our national conditions, costs and benefits of participation in politics, the political participation system exclusion, social public resources predicament, the factors of Neozoic migrant workers. At last, this article provided countermeasures to enlarge Neozoic migrant workers’ effective political participation:to improve their income, to strengthen social system construction, to innovate social management, to increase education and training. This article attempts to improve and deepen the study of Neozoic migrant workers’ effective political participation, which will broaden the scope of Neozoic migrant workers’ effective political participation, to offer the basic idea for the practice of Neozoic migrant workers’ effective political participation and make some contributions to the construction of democracy and political stability.
