During the Chinese people’s revolutionary struggle leaded by the CommunistParty of China, the problem on rich peasants was always a tricky problem. A littleexploitation exists in the rich peasant class, and they also stand on their own feet, thisclass is a part of the feudal economy with the capitalism attributes. This feature isreflected in that their attitude of revolution is distinctly rolling, which has broughtgreat disadvantage for Mao Zedong’s thought about building a broad united front inthe countryside, if it couldn’t be disposed properly, the revolution would turn into ahuge disaster.During the Land Revolution, Mao Zedong attached great importance to theunderstanding of the problem on rich peasants. After repeated exploration unceasinglyand a large number of practical investigation and research, Mao Zedong finally foundthe correct thought which adapted to the way and the nature of Chinese revolution,that was restricting rich peasants. The correct theory always go through constantpractice and then emerge and be checked in practice. It has taken some hard workduring the process of Mao’s exploration of the Chinese revolution road, and he foundthe correct thought just at that time. In this process, Mao always insisted to understand,to think and to solve the problem on rich peasants by carry out the actual investigationand study. With countless research, Mao knew the problem better and then putforward the correct thought and policy on the rich peasants. This embodied hisprecious spirit of persisting in seeking truth from facts and opposing dogmatism andgradually formed the ideas, methods, even the philosophy of integrate Marxism withChinese revolution’s condition, which turn out to be the beginning of Mao Zedongthought. In this process, Mao should fight both the enemies and the wrong ideas in theCommunist Party, he should even fight his own wrong thoughts. During the fight,some spiritual merits that turn out to be the guiding ideology of the Chineserevolution, construction and reform appeared, which includes the spiritual merit ofproceeding from actual conditions all the time, integrating theory with practice, andseeking truth from facts and the mass line of all are for the masses, all depend on themasses, coming from mass and going to mass, and that is the strength source of theChinese Communist Party’s triumph from revolution.This study based on Mao’s understanding and practice of the problem on rich peasants and Chinese Communist Party’s policy towards the rich peasants,the debateabout Chinese revolution’s nature during the period of the Agrarian Revolution will beused as a hidden clue. It combines the history of Chinese Communist Party’s agrarianrevolution and Mao’s thinking about the problem on rich peasants to study Mao’sexploration of the problem on rich peasants during the agrarian revolution period, italso try to find out the relation between Mao’s understanding and practice of theproblem on rich peasants and the formation of Mao Zedong Thought.
