University is taking a more active part in economic activities, and also becomes more involved in the society. Therefore, the problem of university corruption causes great concern in the society. With a high incidence trend, university corruption crimes are characterized in the following ways. First, There is a high surge in the number of crimes and the crime rate is also increasing substantially. Second, university corruption crimes always occur in the areas of infrastructure, procurement, enrollment and academy. Third, leading cadres involve a lot in the corruption crimes, and the subjects of crimes are getting younger. Fourth, university corruption crimes are concealed and of various sorts. According to different standards, China’s university corruptions have different classification. In line with the occurence of university corruption crimes, there are economic corruption, profession corruption and academic corruption. The problem of corruption in colleges and universities brings much harm, including encroaching the university spirit, damaging the university image, undermining the educational equity, impacting personnel training. Further more, it also can deteriorate the general mood of society and aggravate the impact of corruption. Many factors jointly lead to the result of university corruption crimes. Objective reasons include the effect of political culture caused by university administrative act, the negative effect of market economy caused by university industrialization, the management deficiencies of university, as well as the poor supervision both inside and outside the university. Subject reasons lie in the utility psychology, the attitude of taking a profiteering, peacockish thought, and weak awareness of law.
