The Study About The Performance Evaluation Of Chinese Non-profit Organizations

Performance evaluation of Non-profit organizations, NPO is an important topic inthe field of NPO, and is becoming a hot issue in the recent years. Establish a scientificand reasonable non-profit organizational performance evaluation mechanism can guideNPO properly, help organize managers find their strengths and weaknesses, lay a solidfoundation for the rapid development of organizations and achieve organizationaldevelopment strategic objectives.As public service organizations, NPO provide public goods and quasi-public goodsfor the society, and meet the needs of the public to the maximum extent. They are themain driving forces of social harmony and stability, and play an irreplaceable role in theprocess of socialist modernization and building a harmonious society. However, due tothe influence of traditional economic system, Chinese NPO only consider theorganizational funding without the efficiency and cost effectiveness, and eventually leadto low operational efficiency of NPO. In this context, it has an important practicalsignificance of researching performance evaluation of NPO.This paper first discusses the background of the performance evaluation of theNPO, describes the theoretical and practical significance of performance evaluation ofNPO, combs the research literatures and typical design cases of Western in the past twodecades, and summaries the current status of NPO s and the root causes, then use it asthe status of the NPO and the theoretical basis of problems. Secondly, the paper definesthe concept and classification of NPO, uses the principal-agent theory, stakeholdertheory, incentive theory and system dynamics theory to study the defects ofperformance evaluation mechanism of NPO, and summarizes those theories. Thirdly,the paper analyzes the defects of Balanced Scorecard, the Data Envelopment Analysisand Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method in the performance evaluation of NPO,and then explores the Principal Component Analysis in this article. Finally, the paperestablishes a framework from the evaluation body, the evaluation object, the evaluationindex the evaluation method and the evaluation report, uses the Principal ComponentAnalysis as a tool in a comprehensive performance evaluation of an environmental NPO, and validates the method in the operability and scientific. Meanwhile, the papersummarizes the main conclusions and proposes the strategies and recommendations ofincreasing the NPO performance levels.
