The Research On Spirit Of Times And The Reformation Of Moral Education

As the specific spirit of this age, the spirit of the times is the common pursuit rooted in the practical activity of people. It represents the production modes, ways of communications and the value system that indicate the direction of development of history. There are internal relations between the spirit of the times and the reformation of moral education. On one hand, it is inevitable that the spirit of the times raises new requirements for moral education; on the other hand, in order to strengthen epochal characteristics, moral education must deal with these requirements thoroughly and immediately. At this point, they are not only correlated but have something contradictory. In a word, they have a symbiotic relationship.And the deflection of moral education and the influence of the environment of it are the major reasons of defectiveness. So to intensify the spirit of the time in moral education is necessary. It’s conductive to cultivate the new socialist man with the spirit of the time and morality, to promote the free and all-round development of society and human being, and to reinforce vitality of moral education.The essence of moral education to respond to the times, intensify the spirit of the times and solve the problems of it in this times is to carry out moral education reform. This reform is related to the top-level design and practical operation, subjective consciousness and environment, objective predetermination and contents, system design and mechanism building, principle-establishing and path-selecting of reform. The crucial thing is likely to be that, based on the self-understanding of moral education, we should improve the idea, broaden the objective and contents, and innovate educational methods and then construct the moral education pointing to the well-round development and free individuality. It means we should carry out it in the following aspects:expanding the objective and function of moral education, setting up new ideas and construct systematic operating mechanism. As to expanding the objective and function of moral education, first, we should have a comprehensive understanding of it; second, we should locate objective creatively; third, expand the overall function of moral education. Modern idea of moral education should include setting up subjective, constructive and living world moral education concept. Constructing systematic operation mechanism needs us to put in times and energy in content expanding mechanism, education operating mechanism and comprehensive evaluation mechanism.
