Theoretical And Practical Research On Chivalrous Spirit

Chivalrous spirit is courage in face of danger,righteousness in knowing right and wrong,honesty in doing what has been promised.It is a kind of spiritual temperament that combines unrestrained and with the enthusiasm of others.Chivalrous spirit has ethical meanings and peculiar property,so it cannot be replaced by western public spirit and socialist morality.The traditional chivalrous spirit has moral blemishes and defects,but it can adapt to the modern civilized life after the ethical transformation.Although chivalrous spirit is a kind of knight-errant morality arising in the Springautumn Warring period,it has endured for thousands of years and is still active in people's life today.The research finds that the chivalrous spirit is immortal and has its ontological significance.Chivalry can reshape deconstructed ethics and prop up absent social support.Chivalry can purify the moral dirt in the field of education,enhance the ethical quality of education.As a moral force,chivalrous spirit has rich value of moral education.It can transcend the separation of self and others by intersubjectivity,lead the body by spirit,cross utility by immersive experience,can break through the phenomenon of moral contradiction in the empirical world.This study adopt self-made The Chivalrous Spirit of Scale,using stratified sampling and simple random sampling way select 6,235 young students aged 12 to 18 years in Jiangsu province,aims to grasp the characteristics of the chivalrous spirit of the young students,understand the chivalrous spirit facing the problems in the development of teenagers,to cultivate the chivalrous spirit of young people to provide the corresponding educational suggestions.The results show that the chivalrous spirit of the young students is generally good,but the chivalrous spirit of the teenagers is relatively low in the three dimensions of unrestrained,righteousness and courage.The performance of girls is lower than that of boys in chivalrous spirit;With the rise of youth,chivalry shows a trend of sharp decline--steady--slow decline;The lower the academic performance,the worse the chivalrous performance of middle school students;The chivalrous performance of the teenagers who do not hold positions in the class is relatively poor;The chivalrous spirit of young people living in rural areas was significantly lower than that of those living in towns and cities.The cultivation of young students chivalrous spirit should be good at grasping the main aspects of contradictions.Specifically,school rules and regulations should be "decent" and "emotion";Teachers should give full play to the power of example and become "the great man of chivalry";Educators can break through the syndrome of selfishness of students by constructing class ethics community,and cultivate a larger ethical pattern.Teachers should dig deep into the chivalrous spirit in school education and encourage students to practice chivalrous behavior.
