Research On Urban Anxiety Of Public Safety

Facing with the global risking society and its own social transformation, China has made remarkable achievements in economic construction. At the same time, various risks are unprecedentedly increasing. The rapid social changes, which have led to a lack of stable expectations for the future, have been bringing a huge impact on people. In this case, anxiety can easily emerge, even contemporary China has been entering the "national anxiety era ". Specific to the field of public safety, it is reflected in the continuous proliferation of public safety anxiety. In recent years, public safety accidents happened frequently in our country, such as burning buses, violent terrorist attacks in train stations, the melamine incident and the black hole of information. All of these public safety incidents have constrained people’s nerve and prompted the public safety anxiety. Public safety incidents bring psychological pressure on people with psychological shadow. The pressure and the psychological shadow are frequently released in the next security incident, resulting in the amplification of the incident. If the cumulative anxiety cannot be released properly, irrational behaviors can be easily induced. When anxiety evolved into anger, despair even violence, it will lead to tragedy. On the group level, the anxiety may actuate the birth of group behavior out of control. The movement of "Arab Spring" swept in West Asia, North Africa and other places is a strong proof. Therefore, attention must be given to the city public security anxiety, and measures should be taken to resolve the adverse effects brought by the negative emotion.One phenomenon appeared during the literature review and data collection is that although the current anxiety problems in our society has been highlighted, the research on this issue is still rare. On one hand, the current situation provides a platform and space for my research, reflecting its innovation and significance, on the other hand, the lack of the dates also increased the difficulty of the research article. On the basis of the existing studies home and abroad, contacting our country’s current situation, this article attempts to make a preliminary discussion and research on urban public safety anxiety. Through this research, we are hoping to form a more clear cognition on this issue, and then providing some advice and help to defuse the negative emotion and create a strong defense of public safety.The thesis is divided into five parts, the introduction part of this paper clearly explained the background and significance, reviewed domestic and foreign literature and proposed research methods of this article. The second part defined and analyzed the connotation and extension of the theme. The objects and main theories were analyzed, too. The third part revealed the current realities of public security anxiety, and the interaction analysis between the anxiety and the public security incidents were made, too. Public health safety, food safety, public transport safety and information security were the four typical field of public safety. So the interpretation of them is very helpful to analyze the current situation of the city’s public safety anxiety. Contacting the social background of social transformation in our country, the fourth part made a deep analysis to the reasons for public security anxiety. The fifth part concrete proposals, including how to eliminate the root cause of the anxiety and defuse the existed negative motion.
