The Research On Enhancing The Migrant Workers’ Consciousness Of Political Participation Under The Perspective Of Political Ecology

Migrant workers, constructed by the social structure and different from the residents and farmers, have become a unique marginal groups in the city. The causes of the fact are the dislocation of the migrant workers’ occupation identity and social identity and the dislocation between the economic status and political status of the migrant workers.If this pattern continues,which will not only hinder the formation and development of migrant workers’ political participation consciousness, and affect the breadth and depth of people’s political participation, and ultimately may also influence the country’s democratic development, and threaten the country’s political stability. To foster the migrant workers’ consciousness of political participation, and eventually to realize the orderly political participation of people, both from a theoretical interpretation and from the point of view of solving practical problems are very important.Under the perspective of political ecology, by combining Political sociology and Ecology, this paper, in the form of combination of questionnaire and depth interview, attempts to study the migrant workers’ consciousness of political participation from three aspects of subject, object and environment. The purpose is to promote the consciousness of migrant workers’ political participation through the reconstruction of political ecology.The first section is the introduction. Mainly explaining the research’s background and significance, and on this basis,organizing,summarizing and reviewing all the related literature.Then, summarizing the research’s ideas, methods and innovations.The second section is the research scope and the theoretical basis.Clearly defining the core concepts of migrant workers, political participation, the consciousness of political participation, political ecology. Then, with the theory of political ecology, describing the research hypothesis of this paper.The third section is the analysis of current situation about migrant workers’ political participation consciousness. It reveals the migrant workers’ consciousness of political participation from three dimensions,which are the cognition of political participation,the willingness of political participation and the attitude of political participation. The study found that, currently, migrant workers have a higher awareness and importance of political rights, and they already have a certain political consciousness. At the same time, migrant workers are willing to participate in political activities and begin to be concerned about all kinds of political events. But taking into account the interests(time,energy and money etc.) and the current status and environment, the actual participation of migrant workers are not optimistic.The fourth section is the ecological analysis of the migrant workers’ consciousness of political participation. Mainly from the migrant workers’ principal status, channels and environment, exploring the possible causes of migrant workers’ existing consciousness of political participation. The study found that, currently, migrant workers are facing the plights which are about participating in the political having no place,institutionalized political participation channel needing to bestrengthened and the environment of political participation needing to be improved. Constructed by the above three factors, the non benign political ecology has hindered the generation of the ecological loop of migrant workers’ political participation consciousness.The fifth section is about the path analysis of enhancing the migrant workers’ consciousness of political participation. This article argues that exploring the effective way of enhancing the migrant workers’ consciousness of political participation should be placed in the optimization of political ecosystem. Spreading approximately along the three dimensions. Firstly, realizing the organic combination of self empowerment and external empowerment. Secondly, strengthening the construction of migrant workers political participation channels. Thirdly,focusing on improving the environment of migrant workers’ political participation.
