Farmers’ Participation In The Political Minority Area

Political participation has become an important indicator of the level of modern democratic political development. Political participation of farmers in the democratic political process directly affects the entire country. Our country is currently building a harmonious society of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the institutionalization of political participation is important for the farmers to form a participatory political culture, improvement and development of China’s socialist system with Chinese characteristics, promoting national governance systems and governance capacity modernization and realizing Chinese dream. Therefore, the study of political participation of farmers has important theoretical and practical significance. This study make Donghe District of Baotou City H Township as an example to study the issue of political participation, use of literature and questionnaire, through questionnaires, interviews, participant observation to conduct Donghe District of Baotou City H Township Farmers’ Political Participation conduct. First, define the political participation, the concept of farmers’ political participation, and a brief introduction to the theory foundation involved. Secondly, based on the results of a questionnaire survey analyzes the situation Donghe District of Baotou City H Township Farmers’ Political Participation. Then points out four questions about it:the existing level of political participation have imbalances, ineffective villager autonomy running low efficacy of political participation and political participation of the farmers are not enthusiastic, and cause analysis from five areas:the economic development, social status, political psychology, political institutions and social opportunities. It concludes with recommendations to improve farmers’ political participation:Accelerate rural economic development, protect farmers’ material needs; Improve the system construction, to provide institutional support to farmers equal political participation; Strengthening political and cultural development in rural areas, and increase their awareness of political participation; Broaden the channels of political participation of farmers, promote the diversification of farmers’ political participation.
