Researches On The Civic Consciousness Education In The Horizon Of Harmonious Society

Building a socialist harmonious society is a great and rational decision Chinese Communist Party has ever made under the new historical conditions, and it is the goal we should pursue and fight for.The new theme of "building a socialist harmonious society" was first proposed in the fourth Plenum of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; and then the goal of "build a prosperous, democratic, civilized and harmonious socialist modern country" was clearly defined in the report of the 17th National Congress; and in the 18th National Congress more emphasis was placed on the goal of building a socialist harmonious society in new century and new stage of development. And the goal cannot be achieved without the active participation of citizens and highly qualified members of society. Citizens as the creators of socialist cause are the power source for the realization of "China Dream". It can be said that the smooth progress of economic construction, political construction, cultural construction, social construction and ecological construction, the successful completion of prosperous, democratic, civilized and harmonious socialism with Chinese characteristics, and the realization of China Dream for the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation are inseparable from the education of civic consciousness, because the mature of civic consciousness is the fundamental guarantee to realize the goal. Therefore, the value and importance of civic education seems like particularly prominent, and it’s also pointed out in the report of 17th National Congress, which demonstrates the significance and urgency of education of civic consciousness.This thesis firstly explores the relationship between education of civic consciousness and harmonious society based on the elaboration of their connotations; secondly further researches are made on the current status of Chinese civic consciousness and its influences on the building of harmonious society; finally the thesis presents the objectives and contents for the education of civic consciousness, and explores the way to broaden civic consciousness, so as to strengthen the understanding of the education put on civic consciousness in the horizon of harmonious society, it’s significant for the construction of harmonious socialist society on both theory and practice.
