The migrant workers’ children are a special group which has emerged in the process of the synchronization of system, culture and citilization and urbanization. Their growth and development is the key for success of the modernization of our country. This paper, using the research methods of ethnographic fieldwork, collects empirical data according to research on three public primary and secondary schools in the Jianghan District of Wuhan and then tries to investigate the change of the migrant workers’ children under the background that the "two-oriented" policy has been gradually implemented and promoted from the angle of the life course theory. We find that the migrant workers’ children have made the transformation from "children" to "students" in the system environment of "two-oriented" policy and show gradually expanded internal differentiation from the perspective of school culture which is influenced by the school, family and social atmosphere.Accompanying Children of the rural workers are not a homogeneous and unified group, their self-selection on self-expectations, classroom performance and the real career differ with tactful self-abandonment, such a differentiation shows a coexistence between primary school culture and school subculture, rather than an opposition between anti-school culture and school culture. The internal differentiation showed by accompanying Children is the result of cumulative family differences in the process of social change, namely "social-family," the interaction mechanism. The individual Life process is a construction jointly structured by mechanism and individual initiative, during which structural effects of social change play the most important role in "social family" production mechanisms differentiating within children group. Mechanism of social change, on the one hand, let accompanying children believe that "people with high education have a good job" through social environment, social policy and social economic structure, on the other hand showing them "the real possibility in another way"; at great social atmosphere, because of their own hardships, accompanying children families regard children continuing their studies to obtain a high degree as a glory and the best way out,but they do not think this is the only option, for the intrinsic family relationships, family structure, the formation of new economic strength, social ability, as well as knowledge, experience of family members between different families are not the same, as a result, the different families’intervention capability has a distinction on children self-selection and children discrepancies. The structural strength of the community interacts with the family initiative through school environment. many factors’ interaction constitutes the production mechanisms of Children group’s internal differentiation. The migrant workers’ children begin city life earlier, get more care and upbringing from parents, and enjoy relatively better education level and living environment. But the complex city environment and family life also have brought risks to the growth of the migrant workers’ children. Once there is a barrier, it is easy for them to develop into the dilemma of "cannot go back and cannot stay", which may make them fall into the dangerous crowd. The macro environment and family education interact with each other. Therefore, it becomes an urgent matter that the country continue to promote the balanced development of education and to create a fair, open employment and entrepreneurial environment. The parents of the children should also enhance the ability to actively get involved in their children’s education activities.
