Children of peasant workers will be the important force in enlarging middle stratum in China.The education problem of peasant worker's children is a tough problem concerned to our society widely and needs to be solved,because it directly affect the realization of fairness and justice and advancement of law society.In recent years,children of peasant workers are easy to weary of learning and even drop out of school.It is noteworthy that counter-school behaviors of peasant worker's children are not the showing of fight with fate,but self-abnegation with compromise.When there are no vocational school,no rural migrant workers,no apprentice,no business and so on,peasant worker's children have few choices,study hard is one of their choices.But now,they get away from school passively or forwardly and go to the low-wage labor market which open to children of peasant workers.In this paper,the method of literature review will be used to consult documents about rural migrant workers and the education status of their children and counter-school culture phenomenon,so as to understand the manifestation,psychological motive and action consequence of counter-school culture.Then questionnaire method and interview method will be adopted to collect firsthand information.Through author`s investigation and survey in a township middle school in Hunan Province,questionnaires from 109 junior middle school students and 22 junior middle school teachers were collected to study the counter-school culture of the peasant worker's children directly.This article mainly uses Giddens “theory of duality of structure”to analyze the reason of counter-school culture among children of peasant workers.Such constraints as disadvantage cultural atmosphere,unreasonable system arrangement,uneven resource configuration are the main reasons for counter-school culture.However,the constraints of social structure are only the external conditions.They are not necessarily lead to counter-school behavior.When the students feel the restricted factors from social structure,they can choose to study hardto use education as a ladder for upward social mobility,or they can choose to give up to accept the constraints produced by social structure.After investigation and interview,I found that both the outward constraints from social structure and the inner self-construction that lead to the counter-school culture of the peasant worker's children.When they realize they have a slim chance of entering universities objectively,they choose to let down their study and even give up.Abundant material weaken their sense of being member of the bottom layer and consciousness of hard struggle psychologically.Meanwhile,stay-at-home without the accompany of parents is not good for developing their character.Their self-determination are puzzled,and they learn counter-school behaviors in multiple choices.So,in order to solve the problem of the counter-school culture of the peasant worker's children,we need joined efforts from students,government,society,social organizations and so on to form the greatest social common force to break the constraints of the social structure.
