After the World War Ⅱ, Germany has gone through many great changes in its social, political and economic sectors, and when specifically viewed in the light of contemporary globalization, Germany is facing an immigration problem so prominent that a new form of Neo-Nazism has started to rear its ugly head in concomitance with the the emergence of extreme xenophobia within Germany. Extremists usually use violence, threatening and other extreme methods to sabotage the integration of immigrants, in order to force them out of the country. If the German immigration integration policy can be seen as the "pull" that attracts the immigrants, then the existence of extreme xenophobia is definitely the counteractive "push" that should not be ignored. In addition to this "push-pull" relationship together with the trial of the NSU serial murder in Germany and the Merkel’s remarks on "failed multiculturalism" in Germany", the existence of extreme xenophobia seems to behas become the great obstacles for the immigrants to try to integrate into the German society. However, through extensive research on the history and development of extreme xenophobia in Germany (including a close analysis of the reactions that the German governmant, the German media and the general public have had toward the trial of the NSU serial murder), and a comprehensive comparative study of extreme xenophobia between Germany and Austria, Holland, and France), we found that the status of extreme xenophobia in Germany is anything but out of control. The controllabillity of extreme xenophobia in Germany is resulted from various factors, including its political system, its economic development, its social environment, as well as the broader international environment. Therefore, the existence of extreme xenophobia in Germany is not the main cause of the so-called failure of multiculturalism. The failure of multiculturalism more refers to the failure of multicultural policies, whereas multiculturalism as a reality in Germany already exists. The integration problem of immigrants and extreme xenophobia coexist in Germany. Therefore, the abstract debate about extreme xenophobia should be abandoned, and to change integration policies in Germany is the more practical solution to the current immigration problem in Germany.
