An Empirical Study Of Contemporary Residents Subjective Well-being

Subjective well-being is one of the hot issues for scholars at home and abroad, in more than fifty years of study,the happiness research involves many disciplines such as psychology, sociology, economics and so on. This study from the point of view of sociology, using the brief subjective well-being scale for Chinese citizen as measurement tool which mainly made by Xing zhanjun professor,analyses the current city residents’ subjective well-being of Wenzhou, describes the status of subjective well-being of citizen,at the same time, trying to explore the influence factors of residents subjective well-being.In the previous studies of subjective well-being, although researchers detailly discussed on the factors affecting the well-being, the study found that more accurately reveal the real-life happiness mechanism under different scenarios, but they relatively neglect the power and influence of social environmental factors into happiness. Especially in the critical period of our country is currently in the socio-economic transformation,social problems and social contradictions emerge, the affection of social environmental factors in people’s subjective well-being is increasingly becoming a dominant research question. Therefore, the study on the basis of the integration of previous research, based on our country’s social reality, innovatively put demographic characteristics, personal social property and social environment factors into an analytic framework for a comprehensive analysis of their effects on well-being. Main findings are as follows:(1) Current city residents at above average levels of subjective well-being, but differences in different dimensions of well-being.(2) Demographic characteristics of the individual, the society and environment in areas of personal factors to a certain extent impact on the well-being of the inhabitants. Research results show that in the three levels of control of the interaction effects between variables, personal social property of personal life confidence satisfaction, willing to help others and harmonious of interpersonal relations, social environmental factor of price level and law-abiding variables have significantly influence of residents subjective well-being.Finally, according to the conclusions, we put forward policy proposals in how to enhance the level of Wenzhou city residents subjective well-being.
