Research On The Influence Of Political Factors On Subjective Quality Of Life

There are "good politics" and "bad politics", "good government" and "bad government". Some individuals hope to "participate in the social life", some want to "withdraw from the real life", and others are cynical about the society. As for citizens, some are "good citizens" and some are "bad citizens". From the perspective of political sociology, social members are affected by political factors in almost every aspect, such as conscience, morality, mindset, and behaviors etc. in the process of socialization or in real life. No one can shake off the influence of political factors.Among these influences that political factors bring about, the most sensitive ones are citizen's quality of life and their subjective sense of happiness. Subjective quality of life can be regarded as the barometer of citizen's political life and the yardstick of evaluating a government and its politics. Politics are closely related to people's fate and living by determining economy, culture and society. People must have correct political views and know about the characteristics and problems of politics in order to guard against negative influences of politics on their subjective quality of life, if they want to lead a happy life. This paper discusses in what scopes and ways that political factors influence the subjective quality of life. It lists out the main research subjects of political sociology (nation, government, political power, social class, public policies and political participation) and the main contents of modern democratic politics (freedom, fairness and justice, democracy and equality), and their influences on citizen's quality of life. This paper also points out the deep-rooted political reasons of citizen's not participating in politics and their indifferent attitudes toward politics. It explains the importance, feasibility, detailed methods and steps of the cooperation between politics and society, and individuals and government to improve the quality of life and constantly promote the sense of happiness.This paper consists of five Chapters.Chapter 1:Theories and evaluation-mainly a review and summary on related studies, including main ideas on happiness, hypothesis and theories on quality of life, and measurement and evaluation on sense of happiness.Chapter2:Ideas and methods. This includes the main concepts mentioned in this paper and the differences between them, as well as ideas, frameworks and research methods used to complete this paper.Chapter 3:Analysis and discussion. This chapter comprehensively discusses the influences of political factors on subjective quality of life, with the focus on their negative influences. It explains citizen's lack of happiness caused by political factors and its social consequences by examples. It also analyzes the political and identity control by nations (as the main research subject of political sociology) over individuals, and how nations affect subjective quality of life.Chapter 4:Challenges and solutions. This chapter focuses on issues of people's happy livelihood and distribution and share of political resources from macro level. It points out that as "social man" or "political animal", the challenges that citizens face when their quality of life is restricted by political factors, and what the solutions are. It also discusses intensively on how to establish a happy-livelihood-oriented mechanism in which political resources can be shared from macro sociology and political sociology perspective.Chapter 5:conclusion and discussion. This chapter focuses on the promotion of sense of happiness through interaction between individuals and government from the micro level. It observes the scope and ways of the influences that political factors have on subjective quality of life from the perspective of social psychology. It also puts forward several principles for individuals to follow in order to weaken the influences of political factors on their subjective quality of life from the perspective of behavioral sociology and happy psychology. In addition, this chapter points out the importance and possibility of political party and government paying attention to the positive role that political behaviors play in subjective quality of life and puts forward a series of strategies, ways and procedures to improve citizen's sense of happiness.
