Kazakhstan is the largest country in Central Asia, received its independence in 1991 year, since the transition to a market economy, attaches great importance to developing relations with Russia, China, Central Asia and neighboring countries. China entered the new century also attaches great importance to "balanced" foreign policy "friendship", "the transformation neighbors partner", "good neighborly relations" and "stable" rich neighborhood" that is the Foundation of long-term foreign policy of China. In January 1992 year were established diplomatic relations between China and Kazakhstan. For today the relations between two countries are developing dynamically. In the political sphere, Kazakhstan and China have exchanged several visits; in the economic sphere, between Kazakhstan and China developed trade, oil and gas pipelines can bring huge benefits, in 2012 year, China and Kazakhstan has become the largest trading partner, the first exporter and the second exporter. Generally, Kazakhstan attaches great importance to its relationship with China the potential of cooperation with Kazakhstan.This thesis is based on the analysis of the development of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China. Considering Kazakhstan’s foreign policy regarding China, the evolution of relations between the two countries, especially the development, the status of the energy policy of the Kazakh-Chinese relations, prospects and challenges, assessment of Kazakhstan’s policy toward China.
