Abstract/Summary:
Prison police is an important force in maintaining social stability and harmony. It’s Prison police’s duty to punish criminal and make crime Correction. Nowadays social development puts forward new requests for the quality of prison police. There is great practical significance to improve the competence of prison police using advanced HR tech. This paper takes prison police for subject, constructs prison police’s competency model combining research paradigms like behavioral event interview and questionnaire, etc. It designs "Prison Police competency test" and the reliability and validity has been verified.In detail, this paper carried out BEI interview with 50 Prison policemen, and obtained a prototype of the competence of prison police by competence coding and notable difference test. Based on this prototype a special designed questionnaire survey was conducted on 100 prison policemen, according to exploratory factor analysis data, the seven factor model of prison police competence has been excogitated and meanwhile "The prison police competency test" has been upgraded to final version. Then the second time questionnaire survey was conducted on 100 prison policemen to take confirmatory factor analysis also to verify the reliability and validity of this test. In the end, a discussion on prison police competency training and occupation career management was made according to the data of focus group interview and related literature.Conclusions are as follows:(1) Competency model of prison police is constituted with 7 dimensions: Relationship building, fair law enforcement, mental toughness, analytical thinking, communication, business skills, and initiative. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory analysis proves that the model is reasonable in structure. Competency of prison police can accurately and reliably reflected by this model.(2) Survey results of "The prison police competency test" proves there are significant differences in the level of competency between excellent prison police group and the ordinary group. The qualified reliability and validity proves good measuring effectiveness of this test.(3) On-the-job training and occupation career management based on the competency model of prison police can effectively improve the quality and performance of the prison police. This conclusion can be proved in theoretical level, and there are precedents in empirical level.
