The Research Of Dismantling Villages And Setting Up Urban Communities In Hangzhou Economic And Technological Development Zone

Social changes from the conduct of dismantling villages and setting up urban communities have caused wide public concerns over the recent years, not only because the fundamental changes in farmers’ Identity and social status, ie: a large number of farmers lost Land and become urban residents, but also because the new settled housing estates turn into the modern urban communities in the true sense. That is one of the core topics of urbanization. For this reason, this article focuses on what have happened on the ideas, lifestyles and employment skills of the former farmers, whether they have adapted to the urban society, and whether the new community workers can meet the management requirements of the modern urban community. This paper chooses the Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone as the study object to explore the problems and solutions involved in thephenomenon of dismantling villages and setting up urban communities.The processing of urbanization in Hangzhou has been the forefront across the country. Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone is one of the pilot areas from 1998. The urbanization has significantly accelerated over the past decades in that zone, which is mainly reflected in the expanding of the community areas and the construction of industrial parks. Almost the entire land in XIASHA has been expropriated and the whole original farmers have turned into non-agricultural workers and urban residents.On the basis of the above problems involved in the process of dismantling villages and setting up urban communities, this article discusses the countermeasures and advices about consummating the management in the new settled communities. Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone is a microcosm of urbanization. We hope to build a certain reference to the rest urbanization areas through this case study.
