A Research On The Social Identity Of Residents In "Dismantling Villages And Setting Up Urban Communities"

Since the reform and opening up of China in 1980s,a type of city construction appear in the process of Chinese City development,which is called the new district with the combination of the number of original villages and towns,through the adjustment of administrative divisions in the city of edge.Binjiang District in Hangzhou is such a district that established upon a village,which has no historic-cultural core,the majority of the residents is composed of a large number of foreign population and original residents,the former is brought by the development of high-tech enterprises and real estate,the latter is because of the government's police,therefore,the city path of Binjiang District is different from the main urban area of Hangzhou city on the other side of Qiantang River.This kind of New Area is in absence of social identity in the process of citizenization.The original social identity composed with the blood and geographical has weakened with the conversion of production space and living space.This problem has become more prominent because of the large number of foreign population.People's daily work groups and life community are no longer the same,the division of daily work space and daily life space,and language changing in workplace communication loses the sense of social identity of the new residents.Researching this type of district residents' social identity in transformation and integration,and exploring how to unite the new cultural consensus,refine new humanistic spirit,strengthen cultural core,enhance their cohesion and sense of belonging has practical significance.This paper takes Yandafang community in Binjiang District as a case to investigate,from four dimensions of the identity,economic identity,cultural identity,community identity based on the analysis,and three aspects of the government,community,residents to put forward the corresponding countermeasure and suggestion.For example,the government should accelerate the integration of the production and city,grasp the trend of multicultural development,innovate the social management of community,and reshape the historical memory of Binjiang and so on.Community should strengthen the community residents' education,rebuild community space,establish community's public service demand mechanism,support social organizations,and satisfy the needs of different groups in community.Residents have to cultivate public spirit,participate in community public affairs,use Internet to establish a new type of neighborhood relationship and accept the "common values"education,etc.Through the cooperation of the government,community,individual and other subjects,gradually make the residents have identity and belonging for the area of their production and living in cultural psychology,really integrate into the city life.the residents' social identity in Yandafang Community is typical,which have reference significance to explore other district residents' social identity.
