The transfer of power and the global problems have prompted a profound transformation of the international system. The current disputes between the traditional developed countries and the emerging countries is by no means accidental, and the different wishes and interest requirements of both sides have a natural link under the transformation of the international system. This transformation is creating a negative impact on the relationship between big powers, causing more and more instability. With political multi polarization, economic globalization, cultural diversity, social information and threats on various levels as the main features of this era, the national interdependence and the common crisis front have reached a shifting point. The abuses of the traditional big states have become more and more obvious, therefore is no longer possible to analyze the current situation under that rather old and traditional perspective. Historical evidences teach us that "the tragedy of great power politics" form of relations between big powers is a dead end, and the only way to solve the problems related to development is by embracing this new order concerning the countries and its people future development prospects. In order to avoid and dissolve the hidden disputes between countries during this transition period, it is imperative to stabilize effective big power relations, then promote a peaceful transfer of the international system.China is now on both shores of the international system transformation and comprehensive reforms, facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. As Chinese President Xi Jinping pointed out at The Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs in November 2014:" Today’s world is changing. It is a world in which new opportunities and new challenges keep emerging, a world in which the international system and international order are going through deep adjustment and a world in which the relative international forces are in profound shift in favor of peace and development." How to create a good environment for development and implement a "two hundred years" target to fight for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the Chinese dream? As a rising country, while expanding the vital space, how to deal properly with the relationship of the old hegemony of the United States and avoid the tragic history of conflict and confrontation of the traditional powers? How to apply political wisdom to emerge and show the manners to lead the human development? China carries three heavy historical burdens:itself, its relations with the United States and the future of the human race. Among them, the importance and uniqueness of Sino-US relations is evident. The harmonious development of both countries concerns not only to each other, but to the peace and stability of the whole world. In this new era, China and the United States must take advantage of this opportunity and make the efforts to build new relations to create a new model of interactive power. This thesis has the international system transformation as the breakthrough point, describes the transformation of the international system and analyzes its influence on the big powers, emphasizing on the links between the transition of power, transformation of the international system and reinvention of big power relations. Concerning the construction of a new relationship between China and US, it takes special consideration on five aspects:the understanding of differences, the feasibility, the obstacles, the path to achieve it and the development prospects.
