Recently Indonesia-China’s diplomatic relations become closer and closer after resumption in 1990. The two countries issued the "Communique on the Restoration of Diplomatic Relations between the Two Countries in 1990" which drive them to have a good cooperation in many aspects. After signing the joint agreement, Indonesia-China’s set up the partnership in politic, economic, and military.Their bilateral relations has improved since 1980. China Foreign Minister Qian Qichen met with Indonesia President Suharto in 1989 to discuss the resumption of diplomatic relations of the two countries. In December 1989, the two sides held talks on the technical issues regarding the normalization of bilateral relations. Indonesia Foreign Minister Ali Alatas visited China in July 1990 and the two sides issued the Agreement on the Settlement of Indonesia’s Debt Obligation to China and the Communique on the Resumption of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries. In the reign of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) during the two periods 2004-2009 and 2009-2014, the relationship between Indonesia and China increasingly boomed. The peak increase in relations between Indonesia and China was marked by the signing of the "Strategic Partnership" Agreement between Indonesia and China that occurred on April 25,2005, during President Hu Jintao was in Indonesia. After the Joint Declaration of Strategic Partnership in April 2005. Partnerships Indonesia-China is getting strengthened with the signing of the Strategic Partnership Plan of Action 2010-2015 and increased from Strategic Partnership into a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" in 2013.
