Study On The Measures To Prevent The Infestations Of The Forest Pests In Shandong CIQ

Biological invasion has become a more and more important issues affecting the ecological security. With the rapid expand of foreign economic trade and frequent exchanges in Shandong province, the problem of alien species invasion has become an even more serious threat to the province’s forestry production and ecological security. In recent years, the number of imported timber and wood packaging in China is increasing year by year. With the increase of imports, some dangerous forest pests were also introduced and have seriously affected the local ecological system. According to statistics from 2004 to 2011, Shandong Inspection and Quarantine Bureau had intercepted pests 15571 times in the timber imported. Introduction of harmful organisms have become an important factor restricting the development of forestry and threatened the ecological safety.Although the related departments of Shandong province have adopted a series of measures to strengthen the quarantine of imported wood and wood packaging, some problems needed to be paid attention to and improvements still exist in the exotic forest biological quarantine control. At present, quarantine regulations and supervision mechanism are not perfect in the imported wood, wood packaging and quarantine work, measures need to be taken to improve and some other issues should be strengthened.Forest pest prevention and control is an important part of the national disaster reduction engineering, To prevent the invasion of forest pest and protect the forest resources effective measures are essential.
