The family is the basic unit of the society, it is the environment in which each individual survive, live and develop, and it is one of the important subsystems of social system. Family structure, family function, family policy, family development problem has increasingly become the important issue of scholars around the world, high-profile. Along with the social change and population development, the family also changed dramatically. This is mainly embodied in the cohesive family size miniaturization, family type, family function, family structure simplification, family form diversification.The country put forward a policy to promote the development of family planning to promote the development of family work, the policy is "improve the family development ability".There are some problems challenge the traditional family pension mode, such as the deterioration of the pension burden, the shortage of social endowment resources and the decrease of the quality of the pension. Pension model have develop toward diversification. The family as a microenvironment in where everyone live and development, pension can not leave the family, and the pension model’s selection also affected the family environment and the ability of the family. Thist thesis is based on the background of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS), through soring and repairing the data to explore the relationship between the family development ability and the pension model selection.The main contents of the paper include: first, describes the background,purpose and meaning of the research, summarize the literatures. Then, organize the data, analyze and describe the data. Finally, set up the model to study the effects of family development ability with pension mode selection. Then put forward some countermeasures and suggestions.
