With the fast development of the Chinese reform and opening-up, as well as the boom of its economy and society, the police are faced with more pressure and challenges. As the core force to keep the safety of the country and the order of the society; police officers have to deal with high working pressure, high risk, high stress and more temptation, which comes from their work, the society, interpersonal relationship and family and has much impact on their physical and mental health. To ensure their work go normally and orderly, and protect their physical and psychological health, policeman’s mental health services have been a research focus for psychology and management experts from all countries.This paper is based on the predecessors’ researches, uses psychological theory to define standards of police officers’ mental health, and makes a conclusion of the mental health situation of our country’s police officers. In order to fatherly study the effect of current mental health services, it uses the method of cluster sampling to select 211 police officers from six police stations in Shenzhen city, and utilizes the mental clinical symptom for self-assessment form(SCL-90) complied by Derogatis. Through spot check, case interview and comparative analysis, the practical investigation of this paper includes psychological symptoms and surveys on pressure source. Based on the survey data, it reflects the actual mental health status of police officers in this city from two aspects(data analysis and cause analysis). And it not only combined the historical development, organizational structure and operation mode of police’s mental health services in this city, but also analyzes the problems in mental health service work. Through analysis, it comes up with basic principles and ideas to perfect the city’s mental health service for police officers, and introduces employ assistance programs(EAP) to build a comprehensive and reasonable service system. Finally, it recommends some countermeasures to solve problems and improve mental health services for police officers.
