The Explore Of Retirement Home Landscape Design Based On The Behavior Characteristics Of The Old

With the aging of the population trends,the problem of population aging will become increasingly conspicuous.We should face and try to solve the problem that aging has been brought to our society.Based on relative theories of Behavioral Psychology,this study has taken three retirement homes for the elderly in China as example,which has made a detailed study on the outdoor environment of apartments for the elderly to provide some theory bases for the planning and design of outdoor environments of apartments for the elderly and some practical experience reflected in the actual project.Firstly,according to the relevant literature and information on the current situation of the research on aging issues at home and abroad,the relevant concepts and research trend have been defined by positioning the subject;Secondly,through field research method, the three retirement homes’ basic overview,geographic location, outdoor space organization,usage,etc. are analyzed and the deficiencies and improving suggestions are put forward.According to the analysis of the three retirement homes,the time arrangements for the elderly outdoor activities,activity type,form,etc.,and their awareness of different environmental factors are sorted out.Several environmental factors are found out which have a significant impact on the usage of the retirement homes’ outdoor environment by studying the interaction between behavior and environmental factors,that is,the safety and accessibility,openness space,vegetation conditions,paving,landscape sketches and facilities.Finally, according to preliminary analysis,foreign excellent retirement home projects are referenced to combine theorywith practice,and which will be reflected in the actual projects.So, the projects should attach more importance to principles based on the behavior characteristics of the old,enrich functional space types,strengthen their designs of safety facilities,pay more attention to the design of identification system, sketches and lamp.By the end of the article,advice on the future construction of outdoor environment of the nursing homes are given,people from all walks of life have been called on to attach great importance to the design of outdoor space of nursing homes,and to enhance the management measures for it,which will ultimately avoid their low utilization rate.
