"Held together for warmth" is a significant feature for the elder parent who lost their only child, which gradually developed the self-organized structures. In essence, the self-organized phenomenon is a mutual behavior. However, customarily speaking, relatives, blood relationship and karmic connection are the basis of interpersonal relationship and constitute an important part of being access to social capital or other resources. So, in the absence of traditional ties, a group of strangers to each other, daily life, no public impression in the weak passive, intellectual and social activities and physical ability, are in recession lost only old man, self organization is how to produce? What an opportunity to self organization can form? Self organization is how to operate? What function? From a long-term point of view, what problems may still exist in the development of lost only old man self organization? What positive significance of self organization may effect on the government social governance?Based on those questions, the study described the basic situation of the Lost-the-Only families and their self-organization through the on-the-spot investigation of R organization in Nanjing and analyzed the reasons, conditions and effects of self-organizing development through the retrospect of time sequence of "Produce-Process-Results" so that we could achieve the objective, comprehensive, and rational understanding on the topic that how the elder parents were self-organized.The study showed that:(1) The self organization of Lost-the-only aged is rooted in the group internal "hid together for warmth" this kind of reciprocity, and also an attempt to seek social support for individual themselves. The selection of the behavior was the results of the diversified demand of elder parents and the imbalance of social support. The establishment of the self-organization was based on similar life experience and joint pain. (2) The emergence of the spiritual leader, the establishment of the network platform, and the approval of government created the necessary conditions for the emergence of the "prototype" of the self-organization. (3) The self-organization for the elder parents alone was a process of constant interaction including both internal interaction within group and external interaction out of group that involved with several types of subjects. The rules such as reciprocity, privacy protection and self-determination in the organization became the value footstone of organizational trust which effectively regulated the relations of organizational members, organizational leaders, government or other social forces. (4) The self-organizational effects of deepening the mutual collaboration within the internal members, enhancing the self-efficacy of the lonely elder parents and promoting the resources integration showed that the "internal social support" from the self-organization had a position impact on the "external social support" and also closely combined with it. While in that process, the initiative that arouse within the Lost-the-Only parents got into full play and became the key to integrating two different modes of social support. All in all, self-organization could be an important source of social support except for family, friends, neighborhood and government, also a bridge that connected the dispersed, closed and vulnerable individuals with society and the golden key that awakened the motility and reflective of the elder parents alone which might indicate that the self-organization still had a space to grow up. And it is all those factors that made the self-organization of the Lost-the-Only families possible.From the perspective of the running status of the self-organization, some existed problems might affect the subsequent development of the organization:lack of operation capital, the sustainable development of the organization and inappropriate organization scale to be under in charge ect. If those problems were not got solved, the self-organization might lead to degradation even disintegration. In addition, the two parties were dependent on the resources unevenly in the process of interaction between self-organization and government. The study tried to put forward a better and balanced mode that self-organization interacted with government smoothly and depended on the resources equally to satisfy the diversified requirement of the elder parents alone and help them out through the function of the self-organization.
