The Study Of Residents’ Participation In The Community Service Of Urban High-grade Residential Area

With the gradual disintegration of the unit system in our country, community has become the basic administrative unit for the country to make social integration and thus community governance which centers on community service has become the important domain of academic attention and research logically. The research of community service mainly revolves around the participation of residents because it is the core of community service, beginning as well as the ending of it and the community service will become the things that are no foundation without the participation of residents. But as for the current development situation of community service, it still has the problem of insufficient participation of residents embodied in weak participation will, prosaic participation content, unbalance structure in participating group and so on. This common problem exists in the community service of the high-grade urban community in different degree. As there has been an increasing clear trend in the atomization and individualization of society, the family tends to be miniaturization and the neighbors tend to be defamiliarization. People’s emotional connections and bonds of trust are constantly weakening and they have a weak sense of belonging and identification with their places of residence. And this kind of situation is especially obvious in the high-grade urban community for it has a highly perfect property system and thus makes the whole community a strongly sealing one which not only blocks outside force but also hinders the interactions between community residents to some extent. This paper advocates the introduction of the social work methods which inspire residents’ participation enthusiasm and cultivate residents’ sense of belonging and identification towards their community through some community activities.In this paper, C community in city C will be taken as an research object. Firstly, it collects the basic information, the resources can be integrated and the actual demands of the residents of C community through community interview. Secondly, it collects the residents’ basic information, their participating frequency and content of community service and their reasons of nonparticipation in the form of anonymous questionnaire and then makes statistic analysis. Thirdly, we carry out a series of community activities successfully and then make summary and assessment with the help of some community workers. Finally, on the basis of the summary of the specific situation of the whole community’s work, we make reflection and give some suggestions to the question of residens’ participation in community service of high-grade urban community. Based on C community in city C, this paper enriches the experience of the related social work practice and provides a sample for reference to the subsequent similar research.
